A bachelor thesis on the link between architecture and music: a conservatory for teaching, learning, performance and composition.

The form began as music’s key shape set inside the frame of staves, then resolved to fit the topography. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata was used to practise turning music into spatial form.

Function
Two distinct parts: the teaching and learning conservatory, and a main concert hall that can also run on its own, with a lobby and amenities of its own.
Site
The natural slope was kept. Windows in the teaching wing are placed so sunlight cannot enter the rooms directly, and the design takes the main wind directions into account. Spaces are staggered half a level apart and joined by ramps.
